Age of Sigmar is a grimdark fantasy setting we get to play in with our very own army. The Ossiarch Bonereapers (OBR) are an elite army designed over eras, constructed from the finest bone, and sent out to collect the bone-tithe for Nagash. That is hardcore.

When building an OBR army, I lean into the rule of cool first. These models take time to assemble, paint, and learn. If you are going to invest that time, the units you choose should be ones you actually want to put on the table. Whether that means meta units, flavor of the month, or the ones that look the coolest to you, the right choice is the one that makes you excited to keep working on the army.

This guide is to help choose units with the role that you want to fill on the battlefield and how it feels to play with. Artillery will always pressure from the back line. Elite infantry will always solve problems your core units cannot. Centerpiece characters will always shape how an army behaves (and look epic too).

Use this page as a way to explore what each Ossiarch Bonereapers unit is meant to do and, more importantly, what kind of army you want to build. If a unit looks incredible and fits the vision you have in your head, that is reason enough to include it. This is a hobby. It should be fun.

Collect The Bone-Tithe

The Ossiarch Bonereapers reward commitment. They look best when built with intent and they play best when the army feels cohesive, not forced. If a unit fits your vision of what a bone tithe legion should look like, that’s usually the right choice.
